Introduction to Accounting: Objectives

Course Objective

The course is intended for non-financial staff of Westfield. It is designed to give participants a complete understanding of basic accounting to run a profitable business with a successful cashflow.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the role of accounting in their businesses.
• Know the essential elements of business.
• Understand the basic principles of accounting used in Book-keeping, & Reporting.
• Have clear distinctions of the roles of Management and Accountant
• Understand accrual accounting
• Understand Profit & Loss A/C, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow
• Have clear distinctions between Profit, Growth and Cash

• New Zealand: NZ$5000 (net of withholding tax) a day plus expenses and cost of manuals

• Ouside New Zealand: USD$5000 (net of withholding tax) a day plus expenses and cost of manuals
