Course Objective
The course is intended for Genaral Manager & CEO.
It is designed to give participants a complete understanding of Business Financial procedures to
provide them with financial literacy & financial intelligence together with the necessary financial
skills to manage a profitable and financially efficient business with a successful cashflow.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course participant's will: -
- Have a clear understanding of the role of accounting in their businesses.
- Know the 3 most essential elements of business and their interaction
- Have clear distinctions of Profit, Growth and Cash
- Have clear distinctions of the roles of Management and Accountant
- Understand Profit & Loss A/C, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow
- Know how to read, analyse and interpret Financial Statements
- Be able to go beyond the numbers to take actions to improve performance
- Understand the principles and procedures of budgeting
- Know how to prepare a budget
- Understand the nature and behaviour of costs.
- Know how cost are allocated
- Be able evaluate the profitability of an offer
- Understand the relationship of cost, price, volume and profit.
- Be able to use options available to increase profit
- Clearly understand Capital vs. Operational expenses
- Understand capital investment decisions - payback method, discounted cash flow and NPV
- Have the basic skills to evaluate Capital Investment Projects

- New Zealand: NZ$5000 (net of withholding tax) a day plus expenses and cost of manuals
- Outside New Zealand: USD$5000 (net of withholding tax) a day plus expenses and cost of manuals
